2026 Hitachi Electron Microscopy Scholarship

Beau Prince - Planetary Sciences
Compositional analysis of nanoscale fluid inclusions using transmission electron microscopy. Transmission electron microscopy enables the analysis of fluid inclusions in astromaterials down to the nanometer scale.

Jeremy Philbrick - Physics
Characterization of the structural, electrical, and magnetic properties of novel crystalline materials. Transmission electron microscopy can directly visualize crystal structures to help find the microscopic origins of material properties.

Established by Hitachi High-Technologies as part of their partnership with University of Arizona. Awarded annually to two graduate students generating cutting-edge research and publications in the area of electron microscopy.
